“Tai Chi is a rich and varied art. I find it fascinating and would like to introduce others to it. “
I have Senior Tai Chi Instructor certification from the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, and have trained under Peter Ballam and the late Dan Docherty for over twenty years.
Dan Docherty was the UK and European head of the Wudang style. I have been practicing martial arts of one style or another (Tae Kwon Do, then Shotokan Karate) for over thirty years, and Tai Chi for the last 20.
I am a qualified teacher and taught English at Collyer`s College for 34 years where I became Assistant Principal and Director of Studies.
I semi-retired in 2012. I felt I had ‘done’ academic education, and looked forward to a change- so I took the opportunity to focus more on Tai Chi practice and teaching, and also run classes in Qi Gong exercises.
Tai Chi is a rich and varied art, with different aspects to its system- the slow forms, the faster weapons forms, ‘pushing hands’ fighting applications, and ‘internal strength’ exercises and postures. I find it fascinating and would like to introduce others to it.
